About Me

Katie Neate is the resource teacher at Kirkland School. Her primary responsibility is to teach reading, writing, and math to children in 1st - 8th grade. She also manages most issues related to special education at the school. Katie has been a professional educator for over 30 in the public schools of Arizona. Most of her career has been at Kirkland School teaching special education. Katie has earned several degrees from regionally accredited universities and has obtained multiple teaching certificates issued by the Arizona Department of Education. Katie is a lifelong learner who hopes to instill the same love for learning in her students. She has two adult daughters, a husband of 29 years, and a menagerie of critters at home including: 3 horses, 2 dogs, and 3 cats. One interesting fact about Katie is that she has been a vegetarian since age 10.
