As our students, staff, and families settle back into the routine of a new school year, the Kirkland Elementary School District #23 community wishes to pause and honor the memory of longtime former Governing Board Member Catherine "Cathi" Hampton-Cobey, who passed away in May 2026. Cathi served on the Kirkland Elementary Governing Board from 2011 through 2018.
Cathi's legacy and her lifetime of devotion to the Kirkland community remain at the forefront of our hearts. Serving on the Governing Board, Cathi was a fierce advocate for our small district, volunteering endless hours to ensure our local students received an exceptional education. Her kindness, integrity, and deep roots in our community left a lasting mark on our district's history. We are grateful for her years of selfless service to the children of Kirkland Elementary School.
